Happy New Year!

I, for one, am glad to see 2016 in the rear view mirror. I know a lot of people who feel that way. It just seems like 2016 was extra hard. I sure hope that 2017 is a lot kinder to us!

To give it a quick send-off I thought that I would do a quick review of 2016. It didn’t feel like I had done a whole lot, but once I started looking it seems that we did.

Jay worked on his Spad for the first few months of the year

Ziroli A-1 Nose Scoop InstalledThen he started working on the train lay-out

Train Layout - City 7-7-16Once good weather came about we were able to work on the shed

shed-finished-10-5-16With that project done it was time to have some fun. So sets of corn hole boards (and bags) were made

RV-8 Acrobatics 9-3-16In September we started the Advent wreath stand, and finished it up in November

That was mainly what Jay was involved in during the year. I took part in most of that, but I also had other things going on myself.

I taught myself (with the help of Craftsy and my mom) how to crochet. I made two shawls and two blankets for Project Linus

project-linus-blanket-1-9-21-16I didn’t get nearly as many dresses made as I would have liked for Dresses for Missions. I did the trimming on 12 dresses and made 6 of my own

Dress #31 8-3-16Plus I stitched satin edging on four pieces of fleece and crocheted edging on 7 more pieces for a total of 11 blankets that were given to Dresses for Missions, too.

Fleece Blanket #2 4-24-16For the craft fair I made five purses and two aprons, not to mention the apron that I made as a Christmas gift

finished-apronMy biggest crafty accomplishment this year, though, was finishing my Summer Cross

Summer Cross Framed 8-16-16I did a little bit of traveling this year, too. First my mom and I went down to my sister’s in North Carolina to help her do some painting

Droof's Living Room - AfterThen a little over a month later I accompanied my friend to Atlanta, GA so that she could watch her Braves play

Centennial Park from the Ferris Wheel - 5-26-16Besides the Air Show we also attended a RC Airplane show, a train show, a sewing expo and a quilt show. We were busy!

Even though I don’t feel like I accomplished a lot this year, I guess that I was quite busy!

Here’s hoping that 2017 is good to everybody.

And as Yoda Bob would say…
