Dear Lord,

Things are going crazy here on Earth, Lord. We sure could use your help. Every time I turn around it seems like I’m discovering yet something else that I never thought I would ever see.

The mayor of New York City is trying to get the sale of large sized sugary drinks banned to help fight obesity. The liberals seem to think that it’s okay that they can tell us what we can and can’t ingest and put into our bodies, but when it comes to abortions, birth control, and other women’s health issues that nobody has the right to tell us what we can and can’t do with our own bodies. I almost became physically ill when I heard that there are some Planned Parenthoods in the United States that are advising women on having abortions with the purpose being to choose the gender of the baby. I know that’s a common practice over in China, but in the United States??

The Nazi Party is again making its mark in Germany. In some European countries members of the Nazi Party have been voted into government positions. I don’t think that this is a good idea. After all, it wasn’t that long ago when the Nazis were in control in Europe. That didn’t end well. I can’t believe that this is a good omen, either. Speaking of bad omens, don’t you think that it’s bad when a Communist Leader’s daughter endorses Obama for President of the US? Although, I suppose it shouldn’t surprise me since the US State Department granted Mariela Castro a visa to travel to San Francisco for an academic conference.

In non-political news, a Dutch artist has turned his dead cat into a remote controlled quadrotor. Even though it was ‘just’ a cat, is this really necessary? Shouldn’t the poor cat be able to rest in peace? I don’t believe that just because it can be done doesn’t mean that it should be done. I know that in the big scheme of things this isn’t a big deal, but it matters to me and hurts my heart for this poor cat. Why can’t people respect others, even if they are cats?

Lord, I know that I’m just one person on this giant planet, but I hope that you can hear my prayer. Please help us to bring control back to this nation. This insanity is just too bizarre to be believed. Please help us to become the better people that I know are in all of us. We have a lot of opportunity open to us, so let us use it for good and not for evil. Help us to take care of our neighbor instead of throwing rocks at him. Help us to rediscover the love in our hearts that resides there for everybody.
