Refinishing Floors

I decided to separate this post from the post about my house. I figured it might make it easier to read and look at. In my previous post you saw the shape that the house is currently in. My dad has been helping me to refinish the wood floors in the house. I wasn’t sure how it was going to look, but I’m very happy with the results.

Here is the living room with the carpeting still on it:

Here is the living room floor after the carpet was removed, but before we had sanded it:

And here it is after being sanded and the first coat of polyurethane applied:

Doesn’t it look gorgeous?? Here’s a different shot of the floor:

I am so happy with how it turned out! It feels very warm and homey when you’re in there.

The hallway was redone as well. Here it is with carpeting:

After the carpeting was removed and before the sanding took place:

And after the sanding and first coat of poly:

According to the directions on the can, it will take two weeks for it to completely cure so I can’t do much in the rooms where the floor has been redone until that point. I still have other things to do in the house, though, so I will post pictures as I work on those projects.

Yeah! So excited that you're finally able to be in and working on your house! The wood floors are so much better than the carpet. Can't wait to see how it all looks after you've had a chance to really make it your own. :0)
