Winter Cross Update 11-23-14

Winter Cross 10-28-14Well, it’s been another month of stitching and I feel like I’m not making any headway. This is how it looked at the end of October. I was starting to stitch the bottom part of the cross and that poinsettia was taking forever to finish!

Before I show you what it looks like now, I want you to know why I always feel like my progress is so slow.

As I work on a project I use a highlighter to color in the stitches that I’ve done on my working copy of the pattern so that I know where I’m at. It doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of yellow on that paper. The majority of the pattern pages are filled with the words that surround the cross. As I stitch the actual cross it is filling in very little of the white space on the pages.

Winter Cross in Frame 11-23-14Ugh. I keep looking at that pattern, knowing that when I’m done stitching the cross I will have to start on the words and all of those French knots that go between the words.

Winter Cross 11-23-14Once I actually removed my piece from my stitching frame, though, I was surprised by how much progress I’ve actually made. Perhaps I will finish this at some point…
