Well, it’s been another month of stitching and I feel like I’m not making any headway. This is how it looked at the end of October. I was starting to stitch the bottom part of the cross and that poinsettia was taking forever to finish!
Before I show you what it looks like now, I want you to know why I always feel like my progress is so slow.
As I work on a project I use a highlighter to color in the stitches that I’ve done on my working copy of the pattern so that I know where I’m at. It doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of yellow on that paper. The majority of the pattern pages are filled with the words that surround the cross. As I stitch the actual cross it is filling in very little of the white space on the pages.
Ugh. I keep looking at that pattern, knowing that when I’m done stitching the cross I will have to start on the words and all of those French knots that go between the words.
Once I actually removed my piece from my stitching frame, though, I was surprised by how much progress I’ve actually made. Perhaps I will finish this at some point…
