Warthog Cross Stitch 6-11-12

It’s time for another update on my cross stitched Warthog. Yes, I’m still working on the sky. The good news is that I only have about five more rows to go before I get to the Hog’s canopy!! Woo-hoo! It just seems like the sky is taking forever. It doesn’t help that I’m stitching it over one on 32 ct evenweave. For those of you who don’t know, that’s tiny. Oh! I forgot to put something on my stitching so that you can really see how small it is.

Here is where it was about a month ago. I believe that I started this project on April 23rd. I remember that Jay and I were at my sister’s on vacation and we had a few hours in the afternoon that Monday to relax. So before I started dinner I put a few stitches into this fabric for the first time. This picture was taken on May 17th.

Two weeks later, May 31st, and this was the extent of my progress. I guess that I had almost doubled the amount of stitching that I had done. I think that at this point I had done around 15 lines of stitching. Remember, there are 31 lines of sky to stitch before I get to the jet.

This is the progress after yet another two weeks. Once I finish the row that is currently being stitched I believe that I only have five more to go before I reach the jet. I can’t wait! My favorite color is blue, but it will be nice to stitch with some other colors. I might tire of gray, white and black, though, before we’re through. I’m still not sure how it’s going to turn out so it will be an interesting reveal for all of us!
